ABOUT APL

The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) is a live action and digital sports entertainment business that operates, markets and commercialises the top tier professional domestic football competitions in Australia, known collectively as the A-Leagues.

Since gaining independence from Football Australia in December 2020, the APL has embarked upon an ambitious strategy to drive engagement with men’s and women’s elite football, building on football’s undisputed position as the country’s most popular participation sport.

The re-branded men’s and women’s competitions (brought under the A-Leagues brand to reflect football’s young, inclusive and forward-looking audience) are made up of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men, Liberty A-League Women, A-League Youth and the E-League. APL’s vision is to unite Australian football, establishing it as the most entertaining and popular sport by 2030.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

The A-Leagues are built on a rich history of diversity, representing the modern face of Australia and New Zealand. Everyone has the right to access football equally and without discrimination.

Football has the highest participation rate across our region and we remain committed to ensuring it is the most inclusive sport at all levels of the game.

Since our inception we have implemented a number of strategies and initiatives to embed and improve diversity and inclusion in our game.

Our diversity and inclusion initiatives are designed to ensure that all Australians and New Zealanders, from fans to professional athletes feel safe and welcome on and off the pitch.
